Rapid City Historical Preservation Commission 2009 Preservation Achievement Award for Preservation Excellence

Stateline No. 7 Architects

The project consisted of the gut-and-remodel of the second floor of a historic 1890’s downtown building to convert it into first-of-its-kind “loft” living in Rapid City and to restore the façade to a near original appearance. We worked closely with The National Historic Preservation Office for tax-credit incentives, and despite our firm’s not having worked on a preservation project previously, the project received the Rapid City Historical Preservation Commission 2009 Preservation Achievement Award for Preservation Excellence. The project was designed to keep the lower level tenant businesses operating continuously throughout the construction. The project was completed in design-build fashion.  View Slideshow
